World Expo - The World Expo is one of the most prestigious, if not most important exposition in the world. It is a platform for countries, regions and large companies to showcase their progress and development, and how they can influence the world. It is also an opportunity for countries to introduce their nation in the aspects of art, history and culture as well as a tourism location to visitors from around the world who visit it. It is held every 4 years except from after 2005, when it will be held once every 5 years.

In the 1998 World Expo held in Lisbon, Portugal, Concept Communications Pte Ltd was finally chosen by Japan's, if not Asia's leading exhibit powerhouse, Namura, from a pre-qualified list of exhibition companies in Singapore to base on their project management skills, cost and quality control systems. Its role was to construct the main superstructure, which was a major feature in the Japan Pavilion, consisting of steel frames and beams, good enough to withstand potential earthquakes and to weather through the six months of the Expo.

With some thousands of pages in details of the structures, mainly written in Japanese, we had to fathom, trial and finally mock up the structures in less than two months before shipping them in four forty-footer containers for final installation in Lisbon.
